With Christmas only nine weeks away, we tend to go from Halloween, gloss over Thanksgiving and full-bore into Christmas. It is nice to stop, count our blessings and give some of our crafting attention to Thanksgiving.
What comes to mind when you think of the apple harvest? Apple pies, apple crisp, apple cider, grandma's apple butter and caramel apples. This caramel apple looks good enough to eat!
The Large 6" x 8"Flat Cellophane Bags are the perfect size for a caramel apple. Even though the bags are flat, it wrapped itself quite nicely around the apple. The flaps were taped under the apple for a tidy look.
Did you see the pretty vanilla doily the caramel apple is resting upon? It was made with Very Vanilla Card Stock and the Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die in the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. It was quick and easy to give this touch to pretty packaging.
Some sort of ribbon to seal the cellophane bag was a given. The ribbon used here is the Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon. It tied very nicely into a bow. But the favorite part of the packaging are the die-cut leaves. The die-cut leaves were created with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper both run through the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine. Sure glad we do not have to trace and hand-cut the leaves. It is simply fun and fast to make our die-cut leaves with the Big Shot.
Thanksgiving is one day set aside as a nation we come together and give thanks for all the blessings we have. It is easy to point out all the things that are wrong. How refreshing to stop and be thankful and mindful of all that is right. The "Blessings" greeting on the caramel apple is from the Stampin' Up! Take Care stamp set. How appropriately perfect it is for this Thanksgiving treat.
If you would like to share some Thanksgiving treats with your family, friends or co-workers but need to purchase the Autumn Accents Bigz Die first, I invite you to order it now in my online Stampin' Up! store!
Please note: the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper and Autumn Accents Bigz Die are both from the 2012 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog (August 1, 2012 – January 2, 2013). Designer Paper usually retires with the end of the catalog. If a Sizzix die is available after the end of the catalog is not predictable. If you like this gorgeous die, I encourage you to purchase now instead of hoping it will be available later.
