Just playing around with the Stampin’ Up! Wonderfall stamp set and one of my Embossing Folder Chipboard Templates.

I had an idea to try out, an embossing framing the center of the handmade greeting card left smooth and ready to be stamped.

Here is one of the handmade greeting cards.  It was embossed with the 2012 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog Woodgrain Embossing Folder on Very Vanilla Card Stock.

The oak leaf is  from the Wonderfall stamp set, also included in the Holiday Catalog.  It was stamped with More Mustard Classic Stampin’ Pad ink, rolled in a Lucky Limeade Classic Stampin’ Pad, stamped on scrap paper and then stamped in the smooth center of the embossed Very Vanilla Card Stock.  It was stamped off to lighten the colors of the leaf so the stamped verse would not be lost in the deeper colors.

Same idea for this handmade fall card, with the difference of embossing folders.  The Chevron Embossing Folder was given a whirl.  Then the raised pattern was given a bit of color by rubbing a More Mustard Classic Stampin’ Pad inked Stampin’ Sponge over it.

Change of direction with this card for the card stock color to emboss and not stamping directly on the smooth center.  Still used the Embossing Folder Chipboard Template to leave the center smooth for the reason Mini Glue Dots are not needed to adhere a layer.  I am a lot quicker with the SNAIL Ahesive that the Mini Glue Dots.  SNAIL Adhesive is also is a bit lower in cost when comparing 1 inch of SNAIL Adhesive to one Mini Glue Dot.  Every little bit helps.

The card stock of choice is the Early Espresso Core’dinations Card Stock.  This stamping product is, too, from the 2012 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.  It is cool stuff.  When lightly sanded, a tan color emerges.

This time the oak leaf was stamped twice.   One deeper than the other.   Like the look this created.   Stamped again on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  Layered first is the leaf pattern from the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper.  Not surprising, it is also from the Holiday Catalog.

Would you like to be able to emboss a frame with a smooth center too?  My Embossing Folder Chipboard Templates are used with the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cut Machine and an embossing folder.  The beauty of the Embossing Folder Chipboard Templates is you can use your embossing folder as is or add a template and leave a smooth area in different shapes such as a rectangle, oval or circle.
