Valentine’s Day is the next big cardmaking holiday coming our way. Hidden among all the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas stamps is the retiring Stampin’ Up! Flight of Fancy Stamp Set. Cupid is waiting to help you make adorable handmade Valentine’s Day cards!
Cupid stands out punched with the Heart Punch Pack, layered and popped up over the entire image. It’s a variation of the spotlighting technique. Typically, with that technique, only the focal point is colored.
Instead, I added a lot of color to the background. My card was looking plain, more than I cared to have. A friend asked me what did I think about clouds. Loved the idea! I made a cloud template with 2″ Circle Punch and 1-1/2″ Circle Punch. Seaside Spray ink was added with 1/4 of a Stamping Sponge.
Another hidden Valentine’s Day item is the pink patterned paper from the incredibly popular Plaid Tidings 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. It’s retiring and available only through January 4, 2021, or while supplies last.
A few extra hearts were added to the scene with the separate three hearts stamp included with the Stampin’ Up! Flight of Fancy Stamp Set. Use the also to add a bit of decoration to your envelope.
There was just enough room for a long greeting. The “Heart to Heart” greeting is from the Heart to Heart Stamp Set. It’s listed with all the handmade Valentine’s Day card supplies below.
Order the cuties for Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day before they retire and are gone for good in my online store www.shopwithshelly.com! Available only through January 4, 2021, or while supplies last. Whichever comes first.
Christmas is over but there is still plenty of the winter season ahead of us. There will be birthday, thank you, and thinking of you cards we’ll need to make. The retiring Stampin’ Up! Freezin’ Fun Stamp Set and Freezin’ Friends Dies will help you to make fun handmade winter cards!
The bunny sure is having a good time skiing down the hill! There is a die for snowbanks included in the Freezin’ Fun Dies. The stitched edge adds a nice touch. There is a die for every cute image in the stamp set.
My colors for the bunny are from the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper. Yesterday afternoon I checked the inventory status of the paper before using it for my Stampin’ Up! Freezin’ Fun card. It wasn’t even in low inventory. For some reason, I decided to check again this morning only to find it is sold out. That’s how it goes at the end of a catalog period. Retiring products are available one minute and gone the next. That’s why you want to jump on ordering anything you have your eye on right away.
The Gorgeous Grape banner was made with the Banner Triple Punch and embossed with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. It’s also retiring AND 50% off! But, like the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper, it could sell out any time.
Behind the circle, there is a piece of the also retiring Metallic Mesh Ribbon. It was with the Halloween items but the silver sure looks mighty fine with the purples and blues.
