My mom’s favorite bird is the hummingbird. She feeds them, has glass ones hanging, on coffee mugs, and sitting on a shelf. Whenever we see anything with the dainty birds, we get it for her. Naturally, with her birthday just around the corner, I used the Stampin’ Up! Touch of Ink Stamp Set to make a beautiful handmade hummingbird card for her.

The images in the set (butterfly, flowers, stems & leaves, leaf, and bird) have an outline image and a solid image for fill. Next time, I’ll use the solid images. I used Stampin’Stampin’ Blends to color, blend, and shade for my mother’s handmade birthday card.

After coloring the hummingbird, I trimmed him with Paper Snips. They are easy to hold and to cut out images like a pro.

The patterned paper is from the January-June 2021 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog that can be viewed here. The brushstrokes of white paint provide a bit of shabby chic my mom will love.
