Cool and cute are the friends in the coordinating Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper to the Stampin’ Up! Penguin Place Stamp Set!

This adorable handmade birthday card idea was copied from the 2021 Sale-a-bration brochure. All of the critters are from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. So, too, is the striped patterned paper. As terrific as the images in this paper pack are, so too is the color combination. We have Just Jade, Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight, Soft Sea Foam, Calypso Coral (fox), Basic Black, and Balmy Blue (not used on this card idea). 

The penguin was punched with the coordinating Penguin Punch. The other two animals were hand-trimmed using Paper Snips. Also was the hand-stamped winter cap from the Stampin’ Up! Penguin Place Stamp Set. 

For my next winter card idea, I used just the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper except for the greeting. This greeting and the “Happy Birthday” are included in the stamp set.

The card was quite cute with the winter scene as the focal point. I decided to get fancy-dandy and use my Paper Snips again to trim the penguin, snowman, and polar bear to provide some depth. You certainly can skip that part. Sometimes, I just can’t help myself. 🙂 The Paper Snips do make hand-trimming an easy task.
